Customer Support Representative (Collector) Job Responsibilities:
• Act as a credit counselor by offering solutions based on card members' individual needs with the goal of negotiating immediate payments and/or promises to pay with specified payment dates and amounts
• Responsible for maintaining good customer relations while collecting on delinquent balances and negotiating solutions that are mutually beneficial to the cardholder and Chase
• Find additional contact information to locate customers
• Gain an understanding of consumer credit laws, bankruptcy, outside vendors/agents and foreclosure laws
• Partnering with other internal departments such as legal, bankruptcy, and settlement, to enable debt repayment

Candidate Requirements:
• A minimum of 6 months proven collections or sales experience. Additionally, call center, banking and customer service experience is a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to listen carefully, probe for additional details, and ask targeted questions to gather information
• Ability to be understanding, helpful, cooperative, and sensitive to needs and feelings of others; maintaining composure in difficult situations
• Able to positively adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• At times, working with valued customers who are upset and not cooperative
• Must be very willing to work in an environment that requires heavy phone-based customer interaction (up to 85%)
• Good computing and keyboarding skills with the ability to maneuver in a Windows based environment
• Must be able to work until 11pm and one weekend day per week
